Johnstone
Strait Kayak Tours
Johnstone Strait
is a magical glacier-carved waterway located between the northeast
coast of Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland and
it is a sea kayak touring paradise. Adjoining Queen Charlotte Strait
and the Broughton Archipelago at its northwest end, Johnstone Strait
is part of an historic marine region including Robson Bight, the
world's only killer whale (orca) sanctuary. It is home to a myriad
of diverse wildlife, including the largest resident population of
orcas (killer whales) in the world. The Johnstone Strait area is
a sea kayaking dream, boasting beautiful summer weather, glass-calm
waters, and some of the most spectacular wilderness scenery on earth.
Northern
Lights Expeditions is the most experienced Johnstone Strait kayak
tour outfitter in North America. We first took our kayaks to Johnstone
Strait in 1981, and it was then we decided that we wanted to share
the wonders of this remarkable area with adventuresome guests from
around the world. Kayaking possibilities in the Johnstone Strait
region are limitless, and include the countless islands of the Broughton
Archipelago. Our sea kayak tours explore the secluded coves, channels
and bays of this pristine wilderness area, encountering the region's
abundant whales, eagles and other wildlife and ancient forests along
the way. For details on
